In our democracy, voters elect their representatives in government. Period. Yet hundreds of bills have been introduced in nearly every state aimed at restricting access to this fundamental right. And with The Supreme Court’s April 2026 blow to the Voting Rights Act that removed critical protections that guaranteed communities of color fair representation and the right to challenge racially discriminatory maps, the time to act is now.

With another critical election season ahead, we need to protect our votes. Together, we can and will defend against these attacks on our vote. Take action and join the ACLU Democracy Defense Team to unite and defend the right to voting and inclusive democracy for all with other defenders across the country!
